Review – Department of Mental Health – “Hollow” Demo

Jeez, I love this band, and it’s not just because of the killer show they played at my birthday party. I like their slick vocal distortion, I like the fact that they’re very beat oriented, but not focused on typical dance-floor patterns, I like the weird combination of heavy beats and edgy samples and sounds (Infrastructure is great at this, too).
Considering the last demo they gave me was fan-fucking-tastic with the songs “Neurocontrol” and “My Little Star” that I love to play at Boston clubs when things get going, I can’t wait for the full-length release.
